Description

This is the full 70 (ish) miles worth of Henness Pass Road connecting Verdi, NV to Camptonville, CA. Prepare for a LONG day, or better yet, make a camping trip out of it. This road is a historic route that stage coaches, freight wagons, miners, immigrants and highway men followed in their searches for fame and fortune. The trail can be split at Highway 89 for a shortened run. There are plenty of arterial trails good for all skill levels. The route is most enjoyable from May to about November (depending on snow levels) but if you're up for a challenge, take a few vehicles and run this thing in the snow!! There aren't any major obstacles along the main route; however, we've seen reports of downed trees and impassable areas due to snow accumulation. Be prepared to reroute or turn back.

Trail Recommendations / Other Info

Highly depends on the season: winter and spring, you'll want snow gear (winch, shovel, big tires, traction pads, etc...) - Please do not attempt this alone!!!! That should go without saying. While we've chosen a rating of 1 for this trail due to its flatness and ease during the summer and fall, winter and spring snow levels should be evaluated before the run!
