Description

An alternate section of the now decommissioned State Route 34, which starts at the west edge of the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge. The route terminates at Highway 140 after connecting with County Road 8A. This is more of a scenic drive than anything else, as the roadway is mostly flat and constructed of dirt and gravel. You are highly likely to see American Pronghorn Antelope here. In fact, the refuge was established in 1931 to specifically protect the antelope from imminent danger of extinction. Nowadays, they're all over the area!

Trail Recommendations / Other Info

Stock friendly, just check the weather before heading out. There are absolutely no resources anywhere near this area. You'll be entering one of the most remote sections of Nevada. If you can, bring extra fuel and a lot of water. The area is very dry and exposed.
